I walked to the community supermarket

to buy daily supplies after dinner.

The cool evening wind swept across the square,

where many parents took their kids to play.

Near the iron fence at the square’s corner,

a sharp cry suddenly broke the peace.

I hurried over and saw a little boy crying loudly

with his head stuck between railings.

His young mother panicked completely,

pulling the child’s arms blindly in a rush.

The harder she pulled,

the tighter the metal bars pressed against the boy’s neck.

Seeing the dangerous situation,

I rushed forward to stop her reckless action at once.

Paragraph 1

I comforted the sobbing boy

and thought of a safer way to rescue him.

I told the mother to stay calm

and stop pulling to avoid hurting the child’s neck.

A passer-by brought a bottle of soap water

to lubricate the boy’s hair and skin.

I gently held the boy’s shoulders

and guided him to tilt his head sideways slowly.

We eased his head little by little

instead of yanking him out forcefully.

Several other adults surrounded us

to keep the frightened boy from moving wildly.

Minutes later, the boy’s head slipped out

of the narrow gap without any injury.

Paragraph 2

After the boy was safely freed,

his mother thanked me sincerely again and again.

She held her son tightly in her arms,

tears rolling down her cheeks out of relief.

She admitted she lost her mind in panic

and almost made the accident worse.

I reminded every parent present

to watch their kids closely around metal railings.

This sudden emergency taught me

that calm judgment matters more than blind haste.

Keeping a cool head in unexpected trouble

can help us solve problems properly.
