Dreams《

选自詹姆斯·艾伦《As a Man Thinketh》

Dreams are the seeds of reality,

buried quietly deep within our soul.

They do not bloom at once,

nor can they bear fruit without our care.

A dream is not mere idle fantasy,

a fleeting thought that vanishes in a moment.

It is a steady inner vision,

guiding people forward through darkness.

Many people hold dreams in their hearts,

yet few dare to devote themselves fully.

They admire the bright prospect the dream shows,

but fear the hardships on the long journey.

They hesitate when difficulties appear,

and give up easily when obstacles block their way.

They regard dreams as beautiful decorations,

instead of the goal worthy of lifelong pursuit.

A dream will not come true by itself.

It requires constant effort and patient waiting.

Just as seeds cannot grow into trees

without sunshine, rain and firm soil,

a dream cannot turn into reality

without perseverance and continuous action.

Great achievements never spring from luck alone.

They grow from daily small efforts

rooted firmly in the belief of one’s dream.

Dreams shape the direction of our life.

What we steadily dream of,

we gradually tend to become.

If our dream is noble and pure,

we will move toward kindness and greatness.

If our dream is shallow and selfish,

we may be trapped by trivial desires.

Dreams are like the blueprint of our spirit,

drawing the outline of who we are to be.

We may suffer setbacks on the way to dreams.

Sometimes our plans fail,

and our hopes seem to fade away.

But a true dream does not break easily.

It can survive failures and pains,

and gain greater strength after each trial.

Hardship does not destroy the dream;

it tests how deeply we believe in it.

Dreams belong to all ages.

Young people carry bright dreams for the future,

while the elderly still hold gentle dreams in mind.

It is never too late to have a sincere dream,

as long as the heart refuses to stop longing.

The greatest loss in life is not failure,

but losing the courage to dream.

A life without dreams is like a ship without a compass.

It drifts aimlessly across the vast sea,

with no fixed destination to reach.

He who cherishes a true dream

will keep his inner fire burning,

and march bravely toward the distant horizon.

我们便向着善良与伟大靠近;
